Curriculum vitae

Sam White joined the Faculty of Social Science in October 2022.  He was previously professor of history at the Ohio State University and assistant professor of history at Oberlin College.  His research specializes in the history of climate and socety, and his current work focuses on climatic variability, disasters, and migration.  His publications include The Climate of Rebellion in the Early Modern Ottoman Empire (Cambridge UP, 2011), A Cold Welcome (Harvard UP, 2017), and the S.
