Description of research and teaching

Sebastian Lindberg is a doctoral researcher at the Doctoral Programme in History and Cultural Heritage (Faculty of Arts) at University of Helsinki. His dissertation project is titled The Grey Idealist: Carl Enckell and Finland's Foreign Policy Culture 1944-1950. The research deals with Enckell's role in the formulation of Finnish foreign policy in the aftermath of the Second World War, Enckell's political views, and professional network. The approach is biographical and deeply contextual and draws methodologically from New Diplomatic History.
