Description of research and teaching

The main research topic of Prof. Suvi Stolt is the language acquisition process during the childhood years in different populations such as prematurely born children. Prof. Stolt has together with her research group adapted and validated the Finnish short form versions of the MacArthur Communicative Development Inventories (CDI, FinCDI-SF), and she is currently validating the Finnish version of the CDI III which is targeted for children aged between 2,6 and 4,0 years. She is also a principal investigator of an ongoing multidiciplinary research project focusing on language development of very preterm children and factors influencing it. This project is done in collaboration with Helsinki University Hospital, University of Turku and University of Helsinki.
