Description of research and teaching

Suvi Stolt is a Senior Lecturer in Speech-Language Pathology (Logopedics) at the University of Helsinki. She also holds a Title of Docent (Adj.Prof.) in Child Language Development at the University of Turku and a Title of Docent in Logopedics at the University of Helsinki. She has long clinical experience and a long experience in working in a multi-professional research group. One of her main research topics is language development of prematurely born children. Her other research topics are possible predictive value of very early language development in terms of the later language development in different populations, and typical language development of children who acquire Finnish as their first language. Dr Stolt has together with her research group adapted, validated and collected a norming sample for the Finnish short form versions of the MacArthur Communicative Development Inventories (CDI). She is currently leading a research group with an aim of adapting, validating and collecting a norming sample for the Finnish version of the CDI III.
