Description of research and teaching

My research interests

My main point of interest is the interplay between futures, science, technology and education. Within this interplay, my interests include the e.g. the following:

• Education about technology and societal change (futures education, future-oriented science education, sociotechnical agency, scientific literacy, technology education, sustainability, AI education)
• Technological futures of education and educational systems (EdTech discourses, exploring educational futures; sociotechnical transformations)
• Interdisciplinarity, uncertainty, narratives and complex change in education
• Educational theory and philosophy (especially in relation to metamodernism)
• Developing better discourse around technological futures (STS).

Current projects

I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher in two projects:

• Metamodernism in Education: examining educational philosophy after postmodernism. (Nessling Foundation grant).
• FEDORAS Academy: Developing future-oriented sustainability and STEAM education (Erasmus+). Work package leader (WP2).

Teaching

I intermittently teach Physics education, Science/STEM education, qualitative methods and futures education.

Availabilities

I am open for PhD supervision only when you already have either funding or a primary advisor. If your research topic is very closely aligned with my interests, I can also give feedback on fully drafted grant proposals even if you have neither funding or an advisor.

I am available as supervisor for Master's and Bachelor's theses – feel free to email me with your idea!

I am available for talks (e.g. events, school visits) on various topics – just ask.

I am open for research collaborations nationally and internationally.
