Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Legal Tech Lab. Currently, I work in the multidisciplinary project 'Digital Administration Redesigned for Everyone' (DARE), which builds on socio-legal studies, social sciences and computer science. The project takes a closer look at the impact technological design has on legal rights, and equally, the impact law has on the design process of these technologies. Furthermore, it dives into whether law should inform technological design in administration and if so, how.

In DARE I study the digitalization of the Finnish court system empirically and focus on the interconnections between technology, law and society.

My research interests are interdisciplinary and cover topics related to legal tech, changing practices of legal work as well as the social impact of research. My prior work has included studying the law drafting processes from the perspective of silent agents, science and technology policy, and themes related to organizational learning. My theoretical background is science and technology studies (STS) and I am a member of the board of the Finnish Society for Science and Technology Studies.
