Description of research and teaching

My teaching and research interests cover topics on Asian Area Studies from interdisciplinary perspective. Especially I am interested in themes such as identities, imperialisms, nationalisms, migration, women's agency, and intercultural encounters. In our latest project on Asian Migration in Finland and Japan we reflect Asian migration, identities and agency in Finland and in Japan. In the field on higher education pedagogy and learning I am particularly interested in pedagogic leadership and moreover, I have been doing research on blended teaching eg online teaching and on digital pedag
