Agroecology with a focus on human dimensions of biodiversity conservation, particularly farmer-oriented research and agricultural policy for biodiversity objectives.

Currently: BioMonitor4CAP (2023-2026), co-lead of workpackage on social-proofing ecological measures. Carrying out farmer-based research and developing policy recommendations for biodiversity objectives.

Prior postdoctoral employment: EcoStack (2022-2023 University of Turku), deputy chair of WP researching microbial biological pest control; Pollinator-friendly farms (Nessling Foundation 2021), primary beneficiary creating conducting outreach and creating advisory materials for farmers.

Other projects and subcontracts: Result-based payments reports (2020  National Trust, UK); Grasslands, biodiversity and business report (2019 GrassLIFE project, Latvian Fund for Nature), High nature value farming (2018, HNV-Link project, University of Helsinki, ); Finnish inventory of demonstration farms for (2017, Plaid Peer to Peer project, James Hutton Institute).

Professional organisations: Vice-chair of Cultural Landscapes Association, Finland; PerinneELO Finnish Expert Group of Semi-natural Grasslands.

Teaching and mentoring: Supervision of final projects at bachelor and master's (pro gradu) levels, HENVI course in food loss and food waste, and bachelor-level courses in restoration and management of cultural landscapes.

Other professional experience includes: Scientific Assessment Branch at United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya; farm-based field research in Järna, Sweden. Approximately five years organic and biodynamic farming in different aspects of garden and field production as well as cattle herd manager.
