Curriculum vitae

I am a post-doc researcher at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki.

I did my Ph.d. (educational psychology) at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. During my Ph.d., I specifically focused on teaching practices, classroom observation, reading skills and development, motivations in Finnish and Estonian schools.

Before that, I got my M.Ed. (Developmental Psychology) and B.S. (Information and Computing Science) in China.

Currently, I am working with Prof. Katariina Salmela-Aro on numerous academic projects. I am focusing on motivations, engagement, and wellbeing using longitudinal data and experience sampling method data.

In general, I am interested in understanding how students are motivated to learn in the school, and how the school environment and teaching practices can help them to reach it.
