Curriculum vitae

Ylva Biri is a PhD student of English linguistics at the University of Helsinki Doctoral Programme of Language Studies. She holds a BA and MA in English philology from the University of Helsinki with minors in General Linguistics and Pedagogical Studies for Subject Teachers. Ms Biri’s research interests include corpus linguistics, discourse analysis and online genres, and her PhD research project is a qualitative discourse analytical study of sense of community on social networking sites. She is a member of the Research Unit VARIENG. She has non-academic work experience within teaching and localisation.
