To celebrate the 50 years of the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, the editors of the journal selected 17 papers, out of the over 7000 paper published, that have been especially instrumental in defining the place of JQSRT in the world of science. The JQSRT Milestone Paper Award was awarded to the authors and co-authors of these 17 papers.
