Juan Larraín, Chile, Valparaíso, Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Postdoctoral researcher working on the project Distribution patterns and conservation status of bryophytes in the Mediterranean zone of Central Chile – determination of priority sites and predictions in a climate change scenario. In Helsinki, Dr. Larraín will study relevant type specimens, as well as the important collections made by Prof. Heikki Roivainen in Chile in 1928–29. Travel expenses of Dr. Larraín’s trip are supported by the Pentti Tuomikoski Fund. Bryological collaboration between Finland and Chile is expected to be continued and strengthened through this project.
