Accurate knowledge of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) satellite orbits plays a key role in all satellite-based geoscientific research and in a range of services, such as mobile positioning and interactive maps. Moreover, GNSS-derived observables are informative of the atmospheric state in Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP), exploiting a wide range of Earth Observations (EO). This project aims to test the following hypothesis: it is possible to bring Precise Orbit Determination (POD) of GNSS satellites significantly closer to data assimilation in NWP and the use of EO.
