Complicity for systemic harms

Project: Research project

Project Details

Layman's description

My postdoctoral project explores what collectively caused harms we can be complicit in, what is the nature of collective agents like corporations, and what we mean by their responsibility. I am also interested in questions to do with knowledge and ignorance: the mechanisms that can cause institutional ignorance, or the use of agnotology tactics (deliberately spreading misinformation) to delay collective action to address climate change, to give but one example. The project has received funding from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
