Description (abstract)

The goal of this network project is to sustain vitality, raise employment rate and strengthen competitiveness of rural areas. This requires securing the accessibility and quality of education and training in rural areas, creating more possibilities to lifelong learning, creating new methods of providing training for rural areas. Network also cooperates with authorities ensuring that rural aspects will be taken into consideration in planning and implementation the ongoing regional reform, where state supported business and employment services are reorganized in regional level. Network will also follow current issues on youth policy and immigrant integration and bring rural aspects into these matters.

The network gives also support for the implementation of National Rural Policy Programme 2014-2020 and actions of Rural Policy Council.

The network is carried out in cooperation with Ruralia Institute at the Helsinki University, Brahea Centre at the University of Turku and Ministry of Education and Culture, division of Arts and Culture Policy.
