Description (abstract)
The aim of the project is to collect historical data concerning the folk music tradition in Kaustinen region. The project is accomplished in co-operation with Folk Music Institute and the Folk Musicians’ Association in Kaustinen. A varied archive material (e.g. manuscripts, interviews, trial documents) and newspapers will be utilized as part of the project. The data collected will also be used in Kaustinen’s future application for the UNESCO list of Intangible World Heritage.
