Project Details
Description (abstract)
Project Summary
The food sector includes wide and multidimensional ways that could support and strengthen businesses in the field. Various development activities are carried out in the field, but knowledge on its results and effects remains inadequate and scattered. Effective and results-oriented, nationwide coordination in the food sector will provide additional and new value in both the short and long term.
Goals
The project aims, primarily, to enhance cooperation between the food sector’s developers and businesses and to increase activity in development functions. The project focuses on
a) cooperation and working together, as well as building a shared context,
b) highlighting the results and effects gained in the rural development programme’s focus group, both on the company/project level and programme effectiveness level, as well as
c) supporting development of added value products through cooperation in the food sector.
Actions
The three action packages – working together, know-how development, and information exchange and communication – serve to promote cooperation and networking through organising e.g. themed group meetings, food and digital dates, as well as producing shared material. Communications is carried out in multiple channels.
The Food Sector Coordination Project will result in better cooperation and information exchanges between food sector developers and entrepreneurs, which will in turn improve efficiency and effectiveness.

The project’s target groups are food sector projects and operators, locally, regionally, and nationally. The beneficiaries of the networks are small and mid-size businesses and their customers, from consumers to professionals.
