Description (abstract)
Our role (HY) in this SHOK program is in the development of biomass (wood)-based processes using ionic liquids as a technology platform. The main focuses are on the fractionation of wood and regeneration of cellulose from ionic liquid media. A major portion of the research is devoted to development of completely new classes of recyclable ionic liquids that are able to dissolve cellulose or other wood biopolymers.
