Description (abstract)
The pilot project will explore immigrant book culture in an international and multidisciplinary comparative perspective. Referring to the recent discussion, “book culture” is defined in the broad meaning, including different ways of producing and disseminating the written word, and the interaction of oral, scribal and printed communication. The project proposal includes scholars with the expertise in folklore studies, musicology, literary history, linguistics, theatre studies, information studies and social history.
