Description (abstract)

Project aims to improve productivity and efficiency of dairy farms by informing farmers and their employees about new working methods that can help to improve quality of milk, reduce risk of animal diseases, increase bovine health and well-being and improve cost-efficiency of procedures. Information will be provided in several languages to reach also non Finnish speaking employees. The project will produce educational videos and texts that will be freely available in the internet also after the end of the project. A self-test material based on the material produced will be provided in the internet so that the employees can test their level of knowledge. The educational material will serve as a training aid for farmers and employees. In addition to material published in the web, the project will arrange seminars and training days in educational cowhouses.
The project is carried out by Ruralia-institute, University of Helsinki and Vocational Education Centre Sedu.
