Project: Research project

Project Details

Description (abstract)

This project focuses on bioactivity guided fractionation of antimicrobially active extracts, fractions and compounds in African medicinal plant species of Terminalia, Combretum and Anogeissus (Combretaceae) as well as Xeromphis nilotica and Gardenia lutea (Rubiaceae) and Piper guineense (Piperaceae). We aim on finding new biologically active extracts and compounds with special interest on ellagitannins (Combretaceae), iridoid glucosides (Rubiaceae) and piperamide alkaloids (Piperaceae).
