New forms of environmental governance: Managing the risks and vulnerabilities related to climate change in Southern cities

The research project analyzes the new forms of environmental governance relevant for the mitigation and management of environmental risks and vulnerabilities associated with climate change in Southern cities. The research builds upon theoretical frameworks of political ecology and hybrid governance.
The empirical data is gathered in the city of Villahermosa, southeastern Mexico. The research is carried out in close cooperation with the Universidad Juarez Autónoma de Tabasco (UJAT), Mexico.
