Description (abstract)

Participation is a central element of a happy and fulfilling life and a key ingredient in tackling the challenges faced by present-day societies. The primordial site of life where participation realizes is the face-to-face real-time interaction between individuals. Participation is particularly crucial for individuals in joint decision-making interactions, which may be consequential for them. A deeper understanding of the conditions for participation is important, not only due to academic curiosity, but because there are individuals who have problems in this regard.
