Preliminary project of Saimaa Food & Tourism Development Platform

Project: EU funding

Project Details

Description (abstract)

The objectives of the project are to find out how the development platform linking the food and tourism sector could work (operating models) and how to intensify cooperation between interfaces (food and tourism). To pave the way for the proposal, the preconditions for building an international top-level training program that takes full account of the food and tourism sectors will be clarified. In addition, a plan will be drawn up for combining the know-how of the food and tourism sectors into innovative research and development activities in support of food tourism. The project will result in a proposal for a Food and Tourism Development Platform, which will include a tentative plan to establish a top-level training package and strengthen high-quality research and development activities in food tourism.

This is a co-operative project between University of Helsinki Ruralia Institute, South Savo Vocational College Esedu, Mikkeli Development Miksei Ltd and South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Xamk.
