Regional economic impacts of the forest sector in South Savo – Future vision for the 2020s

The project is designed to develop rural industries and reform the economic structure highlighting the importance of the forest sector in Southern Savonia for the whole regional economy. The project will produce new information (about new business models, as well as the potential of forest energy production in the area) for the small rural businesses in forest sector in Southern Savonia to support their future decision-making. The project also aims to study the regional economic impacts of the future scenarios of Southern Savonia’s forest sector. The project is implemented in cooperation with Lappeenranta University of Technology, University of Helsinki Ruralia Institute and Natural Resources Institute Finland.
