Research session on written discourse

This research session is a discussion group for researchers of written Finnish discourse at the University of Helsinki. It offers a collegial forum in which researchers can present and discuss their on-going research and discuss text linguistic issues in general. The group is not committed to any specific theory or method: the backgrounds of the group members include discourse analysis, functional and cognitive linguistics, historical sociolinguistics and the study of ideologies in translation. Activities have included data sessions, study circles and manuscript commentaries. Meetings are held every three weeks, 1 ½ hours for each session.
