The goal of the project is to clarify different forms and uses of the concept of responsibility. This examination is undertaken from the viewpoint of contemporary ethics and political philosophy. History of philosophy is utilized as well as contemporary political theory and theory of argumentation. Global applicability is sought for the concept of responsibility. For this reason other perspectives than the one of western philosophy is taken note of. For example Confucianism brings depth to the process of conceptual analysis.
