Description (abstract)
Dacrymycetes with jelly-like fruiting bodies are the earliest diverging, extant lineage of wood-decomposing basidiomycetes. We study taxonomy and systematics in this evolutionarily fascinating group of fungi, where species diversity is underestimated and poorly known, and classification is in the air. PhD student Anton Savchenko (University of Tartu) works in this project
