Systematics and evolution of Dacrymycetes

Dacrymycetes with jelly-like fruiting bodies are the earliest diverging, extant lineage of wood-decomposing basidiomycetes. We study taxonomy and systematics in this evolutionarily fascinating group of fungi, where species diversity is underestimated and poorly known, and classification is in the air.
