Description (abstract)
This controlled follow-up study aims at observing candidate alterations in expressed genome, microbiome and molecules in airway epithelium that associate with (1) pollen allergic response (2) moderate-severe asthma and/or chronic rhinosinusitis. By this novel approach, we may increase the understanding of the basic barrier- and microbiome- related mechanisms of inflammatory airway diseases. We try to develop therapeutics an predictive markers for the onset, exacerbations, and progression of chronic inflammatory airway diseases.
