Description (abstract)
BIOSEMBL aims to sustainably generate telechelic building blocks from underutilized hemicellulose fractions, permitting their re-assembly into novel biopolymers and crosslinkers with valuable functionalities. BIOSEMBL will discover and develop omega-transaminases and carbohydrate oxidases, which will transform hemicellulose fragments into functional oligomers primed for polymerization and/or use as bio-based crosslinkers.
