    Project Details

    Description (abstract)

The consortium addresses a wide range of inequalities and how these are modified by public policy in the short run and over a life cycle. This information is crucial to government’s decision on how to finance the welfare system (education, health care, social security) and redistribute income while maintaining incentives to work and avoiding income traps. We also investigate trends in job polarisation and nonstandard forms of employment, as well as their consequences. The WIP research project is funded by the Strategic Research Council (SRC) at the Academy of Finland.
