Abstract

In the title compound, C10H8NO2+center dot Cl-center dot H2O, all bond lengths and angles are within normal ranges. The 2-carboxyquinolinium cation is essentially planar. Intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O, O-H center dot center dot center dot Cl and N-H center dot center dot center dot Cl hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.
