Abstract
The article is devoted to how Finland was fighting for independence from March to December 1917. Before the fall of the monarchy imperial administration consistently reduced the rights of the Grand Duchy, When power passed to the Provisional Government, whose legitimacy Finns questioned, the situation has changed. The entire period from March to November 1917 Finnish politicians sought to obtain ever greater amount of rights, and the Provisional Government sought to keep the status quo. By November 1917. Finland actually gained its statehood.
