Abstract
IMU - Integrated Multilingual E-services for Business and Tourism - is an
EU-funded project aimed at launching an integrated e-service for tourists
which combines an electronic dictionary, a phrase book and a machine
translation solution with speech recognition and text-to-speech
technology. Mixed contents, integrated character of the application and
non-trivial ways of querying and delivering information account for
multiple specific features of the resulting product as compared to
traditional bilingual dictionaries and glossaries. We discuss the
principles of compilation of the electronic tourist dictionary and
phrase book, including the challenges of selection and presentation of
terminological contents in it.
