Abstract
The Russian actor and teacher of acting Michael Chekhov was the leading artistic force and director of the Second Moscow Art Theatre until 1928 when he emigrated from Soviet Russian never to return to Moscow. He conducted acting classes and directed performances in several European countries and the United States (1928-55). He developed a method of actors' training and published two books on acting; the present volume is the translation from the English edition 1953.
