Abstract

We present preliminary paleomagnetic and petrophysical results on oriented samples taken from three sites in the ~1.53 Ga Mucajaí complex, northern Amazonian Craton. Results show shallow dual polarity values of inclination, in accordance with previous observations. The new paleomagnetic pole places Amazonia in continuation with Laurentia-Baltica unity in the Mesoproterozoic Columbia supercontinent. The geological and paleomagnetic reconstructions are very similar and suggest continuations of the accretional belts and rapakivi corridors from Laurentia to Baltica up to Amazonia.
