Abstract

The aim of this review is to describe recent pedagogic research on pharmacy education which has informed curriculum development in the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Helsinki. The review also suggests further research areas in order to improve learning and teaching in pharmacy education.
Existing evidence shows that teaching practices and methods have improved in recent years. Despite that fact pharmacy students’ learning outcomes should be improved. Therefore, it is important to understand students’ learning processes. Teaching methods that facilitate deep learning should be enhanced in pharmacy education.
