Selective oxidation of glucuronic acid into glucaric acid

Abstract

Glucaric acid, a valuable building block chemical, was produced by
selective oxidation of glucuronic acid found in hemicelluloses.
Quantitative conversion to glucarate was achieved using gold nanoparticle catalysts in mild conditions with dioxygen as oxidant.
