Abstract
The proportion of diversified farms has increased in many European countries. The management of diversified farms is challenging. The objectives of this research are 1) to investigate management of diversified farms and 2) to compare the management resources of diversified farms to other farms and rural SMEs. The data were collected by postal surveys 2001, 2006 and 2012. Data were analysed by using cluster analysis and non-parametric tests. Results indicate that diversified farmers had equal or better resources than other groups. Those farmers that have good management and opportunity exploitation skills, were able to combine farming and other activity successfully.
