Abstract

The objective of this study is to provide an overview of investment determinants affecting forestry sector development in Brazil, Chile, Finland, Sweden and USA. The trends of different types of risk and other significant factors influencing productivity and investment attractiveness over a 20-year time period between 1990 and 2010 are examined. In addition, the significance of existing competiveness measurement systems and their applicability for describing changes in forest investment attractiveness will be evaluated.
