Worldviews in flux – comparing separative and integrative contexts of worldview learning

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterScientificpeer-review

Abstract

This chapter examines Finnish worldview education in light of two recent PhD theses exploring the concept of worldview and separative and integrative practices of worldview education. The worldview and educational landscape of Finland is changing rapidly, thus making new demands to the way in which education about religions and other worldviews is implemented in public schools. From the perspective of these PhD theses, education according to the pupil's own religion is coming under increased scrutiny and the need for integrative practices in worldview education is highlighted.
