Abstract

The famous Russian director and producer Yuri Lyubimov, at the Taganka theatre in Moscow (est. 1964) created a unique visual language together with his scenograph artist David Borovsky. They produced Russian and Western drama, Dostoyevsky and Brecht, dramatizations of prose and poetry, dealt with Russian history and present day events (prose by Abramov, Trifonov). The talented actors' collective were able to perform both tragedy, comedy and lyric drama.
