Kuvaus

This event series is inspired by student and staff feedback highlighting the need for more practical training on how to create inclusive everyday working and learning conditions at the University of Helsinki. The trainings already provided by the university are invaluable in raising awareness and signposting to university resources; however, university teaching and research staff have sometimes struggled with how to put those ideas into practice in classrooms and in everyday community interactions. Featuring speakers with expertise in inclusion, this series allows our university community to learn from each other and promote a culture of inclusivity.

The series is divided thematically into three sessions focusing on gender inclusivity, disability inclusion, and anti-racism pedagogy. Each thematic session includes a keynote speech along with interactive activities such as reflective questions or small group discussions prepared by the expert speakers that emphasize tools and resources to put inclusive education into practice.
