UTokyo Linguistics Colloquium Abstract: North Saami is a Finno-Ugric language spoken in the northernmost area of Scandinavia. Unlike other Finno-Ugric languages that have a straightforward agglutinating morphology, North Saami shows a complex system of inflectional morphology which is intertwined with phonology. In this talk, I will showcase the topics in North Saami morphophonology, paying a special attention to metrical stress phonology.
