The purpose of the workshop is to explore possibilities of cooperation among researchers and engage in open discussion about new approaches and methods to study Russia and European security. The workshop starts with discussion on what are the critical questions and perhaps blind spots that should be addressed in future research? Given the changing context of Nordic security, what previously overlooked themes have become relevant as subjects of academic and policy relevant research? The second part of the workshop is devoted on the RuBase project that develops a new knowledge platform for scholars of International Relations and U.S./European-Eurasian relations, comprised of a comprehensive, Russia-specific corpora of material related to Russia’s foreign and security political discourses, policies, including corpus of scholarly research studying these processes.

Workshop is organized by Mannerheim Professorship working group together with the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA), Sam Nunn School of International Affairs (GA Tech) and the Hague Center for Strategic Studies.
