Heikki Haara  is a University Lecturer of Political History in the Faculty of Social Sciences (on research leave 8/2021-7/2023). His research interest has principally been early modern moral and political thought.  Previously, he has been a visiting fellow at the universities of California, Berkeley and Oxford and Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies. He has published articles in journals, such as Journal of the History of Ideas, Political Theory, British Journal for the History of Philosophy and Journal of Scottish Philosophy. He is the author of Pufendorf’s Theory of Sociability: Passions, Habits and Social Order (Springer, 2018) and the co-editor of Rights at Margins: Historical, Philosophical and Legal Perspectives (Brill, 2020) and Passions, Politics and the Limits of Society (de Gruyter, 2020). He is  also the editor-in chief of the book series Helsinki Yearbook of Intellectual History (de Gruyter)
