Tutkimuksen ja opetuksen kuvaus

Katja Kahlina’s research has addressed the issues of gender-based inequalities and sustainable community building in the region of Southeast Europe in the aftermath of the armed conflicts related to the break-up of Yugoslavia. She has also explored the rise of populist far-right and anti-gender politics in Europe and its implications for social inclusion and democracy. Katja’s current research interests include the relationship between gender and the EU sustainability policies, as well as the biases and inequalities embedded in contemporary AI technologies.

In addition to her research and teaching, Katja  serves as a Managing Editor of the journal Redescriptions: Political Thought, Conceptual History and Feminist Theory published by Helsinki University Press.
