Ansioluettelo

My research integrates molecular microbiology with advanced omics-based techniques (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and immunoproteomics) to address key challenges posed by clinically significant pathogens such as Mycobacterium, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Pseudomonas species. These studies focus on unraveling the mechanisms behind host-pathogen interactions, biofilm formation, virulence, and persistence. A primary focus of my current research is developing anti-biofilm strategies targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This involves identifying novel antibacterial and antibiofilm agents, as well as designing microscale screening platforms to safely neutralize pathogenic biofilms. Particular importance is given to disrupting bacterial cell-to-cell communication systems to restore antibiotic efficacy.

My research also extends to immunoproteomics, focusing on veterinary-relevant parasites with the goal of developing diagnostic tests to improve early detection and disease management, as well as to applied microbiology to enhance the functionality of beneficial microbes in food systems. Studies on food microbes focus on exploring their therapeutic potential and dynamics in industrial processes, aiming to bridge the gap between microbiology and real-world applications.
