I am a post-doctoral researcher interested broadly in sociolinguistics, and particularly in the relationship between identity, gender and language. In my PhD dissertation, I examined generic and nonbinary pronouns in English, focusing especially on language attitudes.

As my first post doc project, I have been investigating gender exclusive language use and language attitudes in Finnish. In additional projects I have explored online identity construction of the LGBTQ+ communities, as well as gendered hateful speech in YouTube comments.

I work both with survey and corpus data, and I am skilled in both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with a particular interest in mixed methods research.
