Dr. Lucia Cerullo (PhD in Asia, Africa, and the Mediterranean, University of Naples "L'Orientale") is an archaeologist and art historian with a specialization in ancient Iran during the first millennium BCE. Since 2010, she has gained extensive field experience in Italy, Iran, and Uzbekistan, where she has explored material culture and settlement patterns, with a particular emphasis on the production, use, and circulation of Elamite and Achaemenid metalworks. 

Dr. Cerullo's research takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining conventional archaeological procedures with modern methodologies including Elamite epigraphy, historical analysis, and the use of digital humanities technologies. Her dissertation focused on the typological and functional study of metal vessels from southern Iran around the first millennium BCE.

Dr. Cerullo is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki and an active member of the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires (ANEE). Her study, which is part of the "WORK-IT" ERC project, focusses on the Southern Levant's labour systems and temple economics during the Achaemenid period. She uses archaeological data and digital techniques to study the historical changes, resource management practices, and social effect of temple economies under the Persian Empire.
