Tutkimuksen ja opetuksen kuvaus

Nina Sajaniemi is a docent, responsible researcher and senior lecturer, with special reference to early childhood education, at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki. Her research work is directed to learning processes (including, self-regulation, stress regulation and emotional regulation) and how learning potential is realized through human interaction, participation, and social networks in different levels. Her research utilizes interdisciplinary approach to target children´s as well as professional´s co-operation, wellbeing and learning processes and positively influence their outcome in long-term. Her research includes e.g. intervention studies aimed at enhance play, compassion, co-operation and self-regulation, teacher´s pedagogical sensitivity and occupational wellbeing. Her research has been funded by European Union, Academy of Finland and The Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation.
